Recital Costume Deposits are due this month. A $35 deposit for each costume you will need will be added to your account. Balance of $35 for preschool and $40 for all others will be added in February. Costume deposits are due by Oct. 31st. For those who do automatic withdrawal your account will be debited on the 11th.

Recital will be held at the end of May. Will know exact date soon!!

24sevendance convention will be held Dec 4-6 at the Sheraton BJCC in Birmingham. This is 3 days of classes taught by professional dancers, choreographers and teachers. Classes in ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, hip hop, ballroom and more. Staff includes Twitch, Jenna and Val from Dancing with the Stars, Randi and Hef and more. Fees - $195 (Ages 6-7), $265 (Ages 8 and up). Let me know by Oct 10 if you wish to attend. Fee is due by Oct. 17. Ages 6 and 7 will only have class on Dec 5-6. Spring Recital Info - 31st Annual Spring Recital will be held Saturday, May 29th at Norton Auditorium. If your child has not been measured, please stop by the office and take care of that. We are already picking out and ordering costumes. Pictures will be posted in February. Costume deposits were charged back in October. If you have joined the studio in the past month and have not paid your deposit, please do so asap.

Christmas Holiday Closing - Studio will be closed Dec 21- Jan 3 for Christmas Break.

Intermediate and Advanced Tap Classes with Mrs. Rachael are starting in January. We are working on finding a time that will work for her and those who wish to take. Please let me know if this is a class you are interested in.

Adult ballet with Mrs. Tonya is being held on Wednesday from 7-8. This class is great for those who are looking for a fun and different form of exercise. Great for working on flexibility, coordination, and strength.

Recital Information

Costume Balances will be posted to your account and will be due by Feb. 28th. Preschool $35 Level 1 and up $40. Costume Pictures and Accessory List will be posted in the lobby by the first of February. If you are a new student and have not paid your deposit we need you to please do that this week in order to guarantee your costume will be here in time.

Recital Program Ads - Don't miss out on a lifetime keepsake for your child. The Recital Program Book makes for a lasting memory your child will keep forever. Book will contain all group photos, staff bios and pics, recital program order, pic collage pages and individual ad pages. We have copies of previous books in the lobby. We will be discounting ads for those who purchase by Feb. 28th. Ads do contain a special message to your child and can be sponsored by a business for a tax write-off. Early Prices 1/4 pg $60, 1/2 page(2 Pics) $130, Full page (1 pic) $170, Full Ad (Array of Pics) $220.

Please make sure your child is coming to class, several of the classes are starting choreography for the performance.

New Class Alert - Mrs. Rachael is back teaching Tap on Saturday mornings. Tap II at 9:15-10 and Tap III 10-10:45. Let us know if you are interested.

Adult Ballet - Mrs. Tonya teaches Adult ballet on Wed 7-8pm. If you are looking for a new type of workout, come give this class a try. Free trial class available.

The North Alabama Dance Festival will be held on April 10th & 11th at Florence High School. All dancers ages 6 and up are welcome and encouraged to attend. This festival is a full day of outstanding master classes featuring award-winning teachers and choreographers from across the country followed by a fun showcase the following evening. Students will receive class in ballet, contemporary, hip-hop, jazz, and musical theatre. Chick-fil-A lunch will be included. This event is bigger and bigger every year and multiple dance studios, both local and abroad, register for the festival. The price is $85 per student and the proceeds are used to fund the Florence City Schools' FAFA dance program. The payment will be due by Friday March 19th.

Costumes will be handed out starting next week. Please make sure your account is paid in full before receiving your costume. Do not worry if your costume has not come in yet, we will keep you updated as we receive them.

Recital fee of $50 will be put on your account for March. This fee includes a recital t-shirt and commemorative program book for each of your dancers. It also goes towards paying for the venue and the amazing staff at Norton Auditorium.

Picture week will be April 26-29th during your normal class times. Your child should be in costume with hair and make-up done. If you need to view the accessory list, it is posted in the lobby or you can view it here.

Recital: Rehearsal will be Thursday May 27th and the actual recital will be Saturday May 29th, both at Norton Auditorium on UNA's campus.

Studio closed March 22-27th for Spring Break.

Several people have asked about the recital fees on their account. There was a recital costume fee posted in October for deposit and in February for balance of costume. There is a recital fee this month which gives your child a recital T-shirt, program book and helps with Norton Auditorium expenses. There will be no other fees charged.

With picture week being only a few weeks away we wanted to give you some reminders and tell you about the new system Butler Studios is using for selling pictures.

As a reminder, picture week will be April 26-30th. Your child's pictures will be taken during their regular class times. We hope to have all of the costumes ready in time for pictures and we will continue to let you know when new costumes come in. We have 3 class costumes that are going to be shipped late due to covid reasons, we will let those classes know. Late picture day/makeup day will be Tuesday May 18th. Also, don't forget to check out the accessory list posted in the lobby or on the website under "Studio News" to make sure your child has any shoes/tights they need. I will be sending out a separate email soon regarding hair and makeup details.

Butler Studios recently called us and told us about a new system they have tried at other dance studios for selling pictures. The feedback they have received from parents has been overwhelmingly positive. In the past, as some of you know, you would select a picture package which would limit the number of prints you would receive. Also, if your child had individual pictures made in multiple costumes it was more expensive. After listening to them explain this new system, I think you will all prefer it. You will get pictures in every costume, and rather than have them print a set amount, they give you access to EVERY picture so you can print as many as you need or even make a fun calendar! All students will have individuals made in every costume with 2 separate poses and a group shot. This fee even includes the pictures that will be used in the recital program book. The fee is only $40 and it is a mandatory fee for everyone who is photographed. All payments should be made payable to Butler Studios.

We have 3 class costumes coming in late and picture date for these will be May 18 or May 11 if they all were to come in early. I will keep everyone posted. These classes are Ballet III on Wed, Pre-Ballet on Thursday and Lyrical I. All other costumes have been shipped and should be picked up next week.

Hair for all dancers will be a donut bun in the center back of the head. If your costume did not come with a headpiece, I have bought one for the class and will hand out on picture day.

Makeup for preschoolers will be mascara and pink lipstick. All other dancers need a smokey eye, mascara or eyelashes, and red lipstick.

All dancers need rhinestone earrings. If you don't have any we have some clipped and pierced in the office. Small $10 Large $12.

All pictures will be taken during your regularly scheduled class time, except Friday and Saturday classes. Please arrive on time dressed and ready.

My staff and I are so excited that we can finally have a show on stage at Norton Auditorium. There will be protocols we have to follow, such as mask wearing and distance between families. Norton is operating under half capacity which is why we are having to do 2 shows. It is also the celebration of our 30th/31st recital and we expect sold out shows. We will be performing a big opening number with current and previous company members. You won't want to miss it!!

Tickets go on sale Monday at 9am via this link Price $15 for ages 3 and up. If you have to buy for both shows, I want you to pay half price for the 2nd show. The only way I have been told by the ticketing company I can do this, is you must pay full price and then they will send me a report of what each family bought so that I can credit your account. Please understand I am trying to follow all rules and trying not to have to limit ticket sales. If I went to one show I would have to limit everyone to 3 tickets only. This should only be a problem for this year. This has been a crazy year and I am doing everything possible to get your child on stage. Next year we should be back to normal. Showtime are 2pm and 6pm on Saturday, May 29th. Reserved seating.

Dress Rehearsal Schedule - Dress Rehearsal will be held on Thursday, May 27th at Norton Auditorium. Dancers need to wear all costume pieces, shoes and hair in bun. Makeup is not needed for rehearsal.

May 29th 2pm show - Rehearsal Time is 2pm on the 27th
6pm show - Rehearsal Time is 4:00pm on the 27th

We have people who need to get to graduations so we are doing our best to be out before 7pm

Summer Classes - Summer Class Schedule is available on the website. Classes run from June 7- June 30th. This will be a fun time of learning and bettering our skills. You can register through your customer portal. No reg fee only tuition.
