BRING A FRIEND AND YOU’LL BE ENTERED TO WIN A GIFT CERTIFICATE: Friend week is September 12th – 17th. This is the time to tell all of your friends how much fun you have at dance and invite them to join you for class. For every friend you bring during friend week you will be entered into a drawing for a $50 Reflexions gift certificate.
PARENTS: We have had several complaints of parents being in the classroom while a class is going on. We have view windows provided for you to watch your children. We also ask that you keep siblings out of the classroom. This is a distraction to students taking the class. Thanks for your cooperation.
DRESS CODE: We have had several children not dressed appropriately for class this past month. Parents please check the dress code below for your children’s classes and make sure they are dress as indicated. This is important so the teachers can see their body lines and correct as necessary; in tumbling it is important because they are not concentrating on correct technique if their shirt is coming up every time they do handstands, cart wheels, etc. Please remember the only class that T-shirts are allowed is hip hop.
DRESS CODE: All dancers must come to class in the proper dance attire and shoes. Hair should always be pulled back off the face. If students show up to class not properly dressed or without the proper shoes they will be given one warning the next time they will be asked to sit out of class.
Ballet: GIRLS: Solid color leotard, black booty shorts, pink or suntan tights, leather or canvas ballet shoes (pointe shoes-see instructor if you have this class). Hair must be pulled back off the face and in a bun, if possible. NO dance pants or half tops for this class. BOYS: White t-shirt or wife beater, shorts or cut-off sweat pants.
Jazz & Lyrical: GIRLS: Sports bra top, jazz pants or booty shorts, jazz shoes, dance paws, foot undeez, or pedinis. NO t-shirts. BOYS: White t-shirt or wife beater, shorts or cut-off sweat pants.
Hip Hop: GIRLS AND BOYS: Skate shoes or dance tennis shoes, comfortable hip hop clothes such as sweats, cut off sweats, t-shirt, baggy , etc.
Tap: GIRLS: Tap shoes, leotard, sports bra, booty shorts, jazz pant. NO t-shirts. BOYS: White t-shirt or wife beater, shorts or cut-off sweat pants.
Tumbling/Acro: GIRLS: Leotard, booty shorts, bra top or dance top. NO t-shirts or shoes. BOYS: tight fitting shirt or wife beater, shorts or cut-off sweat pants.
Cheer: Tight tank top, soffee short, and tennis shoes.
Strength and Flex: GIRLS: Sports bra top, jazz pant, sweatpants, or booty shorts, tennis shoes (they will be running outside when weather permits). NO t-shirts. BOYS: White t-shirt or wife beater, shorts or cut-off sweat pants.
PRESCHOOL NOTE: We have several preschool classes this fall. Some children have been crying. Please don’t give up on them. In my experience we need to give the child and teacher a chance to get to know each other. Most of the time they will adjust and stop crying.
NO MORE LATE FEES! We are again offering automatic tuition deduction. You can sign up to have tuition, costume deposits, recital fees, and/or recital costume balances taken out on the due dates. Costume and recital fees are subject to the 3% fee. If you are interested in signing up to have any or all of your fees automatically taken out please stop in the office to get the form. If you have any questions please talk to the office.
LOCKERS: We still have a few lockers open. If you are interested in renting one, please let Mrs. Laura know.
PETITE COMPETITION GROUP: (5 & 6 YEAR OLD): This is to give our future dance company members a taste of what dance competition is all about. This group will attend 4 one day competitions next spring. Practice will be held on Friday from 3:30 – 4:30 pm. Fees involved are two costumes to be used for competition and recital, and competition fees around $70.00 each time they compete and a competition windsuit. Sign up in the office or for more information contact Laura.
RECREATIONAL DANCE TEAM: (Ages 10-18). This is a competitive dance team, which requires a 4 1/2 hour a week commitment. Fees involved are two costumes to be used for competition and recital, choreography fee and competition fees around $70.00 each time they compete and a competition windsuit.
